Super protective and loyal, has decided Newt is her charge. Especially after hearing Newt tell her stories about her namesake. She's the leader of the team and with the other member being shy, she'll fill the role as team mom well.
She's very protective of Newt as the young girl sticks close to her and often has to wake Newt up when she's having nightmares. Newt has told her about what happened to her family and colony, just to have someone to talk to who wouldn't try and fix it with words.
Ripley helps Newt when the girl has panic attacks and will sleep in front of Newt's bed, where the girl sleeps underneath, shielding her from view.
