[Ripley being there is helping a lot. So does the other pokemon because it's reminding her terrified brain that the things that come out of eggs here are not the monsters, not the aliens. Not the things that go for your face and-]
.......are you sure? It's just a normal pokemon egg?
[She might just need reassurance at this point. She's still not looking at the egg but she's at least not positive it's one from home. They don't look the same but the size of the pokemon eggs don't really help much with the comparison.]
[Another squawk from MC - it's true! He's super proud of his eggies, and of his lovely Blaziken girlfriend. He's not making any moves to pass the egg back to either Krieg or to Newt, though; as a kindly and sensitive soul, MC can see that even though it looks like the initial fright is over, they're not out of the woods yet.]
[This time she will glance over at the egg and MC. Which well the egg doesn't help but MC does. She glances back.]
....I guess that makes sense.
[It's not that weird weekend and it doesn't really look like an alien egg now that she's calmed down. Still though....]
....I can't look after it though. If I wake up and see it, or if I get scared. I might try to hurt it....and that would be bad.
[She doesn't want to hurt a pokemon, it's the same of her fears of the pokemon that look like the monsters. She knows they're not really them but she also sometimes wakes up screaming if it's a bad night. And she knows that she can be so afraid she doesn't do smart things.]
[He still feels very much like he's walking on eggshells -- oooh, bad metaphor -- or thin ice. The sound of her terrified scream is still ringing in his ears, and the knowledge that his direct actions were the cause of it makes him feel like puking.
He'll have to puke later, though, once he's made sure she's really okay.
Krieg moves then, just a little bit, just enough to glance over his shoulder and up at MC. He meets the Blaziken's eyes, and the big 'Mon gives a quiet squawk of understanding and makes a quick and quiet retreat with his egg. Then Krieg's attention is back 100% on Newt.]
I'm sorry, Firefly. I didn't know. I didn't want to scare you. I don't ever want to scare you.
[The egg going away is a big help and she seems to calm down even more. She's breathing better at least and Ripley is still there to keep her safe.]
It's okay. Most people aren't scared of ....eggs.
[The only people she knows really get the fear of eggs would be someone like Ripley who had lived through the same sort of terror as her. Everyone else, well.]
They're normal here. ....I'm just still scared of a lot of things that remind me of the colony and the monsters.
[To the point where everything she's told people is still leaving out half the important/horrific bits. Mostly involving the details about her family in it all.]
...I'll be fine.
[And she seems....okay? But it's also a more reserved voice then she's probably had around the house. She's...]
I have pokemon that can eat my bad dreams so I'll be okay.
[Somehow, he gets the feeling she's not out of the woods, yet. Which he totally gets, and also makes him hate himself even more. Good job, dummy! You scared your small friend and gave her some shit to work through!]
Good! Sugar has one, too. Which one of yours eats the nightmares?
[Bless all ghost-type pokemon and any 'mon that can learn Dream Eater, seriously.]

When it hatches it'll be a baby Murder Chicken.

That makes sense. It sounds like a really bad time.
[Just like, super duper ultra bad. Zero out of ten stars, F-, would not recommend.
Is she starting to look a little better? A little less scared? He thinks so. Maybe. She seems a little calmer.]
Are you gonna be okay?

Spooky and Sleepy can both eat my bad dreams. They take turns. They're a Gastly and a Munna.

[Is he attempting to distract her on purpose or is he just getting distracted, himself?
We may never know.]

She's pink and she floats and she has pictures of flowers on her. She's really nice and she's best friends with Spooky.

She sounds perfect! Is she a ghost, too?
no subject
I guess you don't have to be a ghost to eat dreams.

[....Based on the very little he knows about Psychic types, anyway.]
I wonder if the Robot Arm could learn?
[Fe Fe is primarily a Steel type, but she's definitely got the Psychic thing going, too! He'll have to ask her, if he remembers.]
I'm glad you've got two good nightmare eaters.

[She nods.]
It's good. I like not having bad dreams. Shiro gave me my first one and I got the second one from a man named Hank.
